Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. (KTLA, Local): SoCal Pastor Warren's Commits Homocide (=Self, Suicide)

WARREN

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (KTLA) — The youngest son of a Southern California super church’s pastor committed suicide, according to a statement released by the pastor and his church.

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Valley Community Church in Lake Forest, released a statement to the church, saying his 27-year-old son Matthew took his own life after a battle with depression.

The statement said that the suicide followed an evening spent with Warren and his wife, Kay, who live in Mission Viejo.

“Kay and I’ve been privileged to hold your hands as you faced a crisis or loss,” the statement said. “Today we need your prayers for us.”

Orange County sheriff’s officials say Matthew Warren died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
